Manages the direction, market presence and lifecycle of Nightforce Optics' products, focusing primarily on optics and special projects. Assesses needs in the market, prepares proposals, plans, launches, sustains and sunsets the assigned products while working closely with other team members in Sales, Marketing, and Engineering. This position understands the market for our products from perspectives of the consumer, the competitor and the process of technological advancement.


  • At least five years of experience in a similar position, required
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Marketing, Business, or related field, preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of the outdoor industry, both domestic and international, preferred
  • Experience with shooting, hunting and Sport Optics industry, preferred
  • Experience in working with government and military organizations, preferred
  • Must have strategic thinking, problem analysis, and problem-solving skills
  • Must work well in a team environment and effectively manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Must have excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Must have strong project management skills
  • Must have a high energy level and resilient character, with outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Must have strong time management and organizational skills
  • Must possess a superior customer service mentality and use high integrity in all business dealings
  • Able to travel 50%-60% of the time, spending one week a month in our Lavonia, GA office
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Core Accountabilities

  • Manages Nightforce's optics product lines including premium, mid-range and entry-level products, across several market segments, with some responsibility for accessories
  • Analyzes the product life cycle of product families and individual SKUs, and makes recommendations accordingly
  • Understands multiple categories of the company's business: hunting, competition, shooting, as well as regional preferences outside of the US
  • Listens objectively while gathering information to pinpoint consumer and market needs. Formulates plans accordingly
  • Develops profitable product costing working with Engineering, Materials, and Production
  • Works with Sales to develop strategic market pricing and demand probabilities
  • Works in conjunction with all concerned groups in prioritizing product development projects in order to drive the most impact for the company
  • Manages product development and launch timelines; develops launch-to-market plans; provides accurate information to Marketing and Sales for proper launch-to-market strategies
  • Provides, maintains and monitors project schedules and reports status on a regular basis
  • Works extensively with the Strategic Marketing Manager to contribute to the development of 24-month and 36-month product roadmap plan and overall product SKU matrix, as well as future category planning
  • Research current and future market trends and needs
