The Quality Assurance Manager will have responsibility for the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the Quality Management Systems for Nightforce Optics to ensure full compliance with customer, industry and corporate quality requirements. 


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Quality Management, Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a quality manager role
  • Detailed knowledge and experience of ISO9001 - 2015 quality system requirements
  • Expert skills in the use and training of quality tools (i.e. DMAIC, P/FMEA)
  • Document control and file plan management experience, preferably in Quality Control areas
  • Experience coordinating and scheduling internal and external audits
  • Understanding of Six Sigma methodology
  • Working experience in Lean manufacturing principles
  • Strong judgment and decision-making skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate and establish an atmosphere of trust and support with people at all levels within the organization
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Previous optical experience, preferred
  • Experience in machining and assembly environment, preferred
  • Professional Quality certification(s) would be considered a plus

 Core Accountabilities

  • Manage Quality Department staff
  • Responsible for the development, implementation, continued execution and advancement of a process-based Quality Management System/Quality Assurance Manual and documentation procedure
  • Develop and implement system improvements
  • Support process improvement efforts by evaluating existing processes, recommending improvements, and implementing changes
  • Facilitate continuous improvement culture by completing failure analysis, root cause identification, and corrective/preventive action using best practice methodologies such as DMAIC and PDCA
  • Develop and monitor quality metrics, targets and reaction plans for internal and external suppliers
  • Must understand core manufacturing processes and be able to interface in a positive manner with management and team members of all levels to achieve the organization's objectives
  • Control, and audit all electronically stored Quality Management System data and documentation
  • Report on all warranty data, with analysis, for Engineering department and production
  • Work closely with all departments to ensure compliance with all quality policies and procedures
  • Develop and manage Quality Department's SOP's, Control Plans, Gauge Plans, and calibration schedules
  • Develop the budget for Quality department
