This position has the primary responsibility of assisting the head of the Finance Department with general ledger postings, bank reconciliations, journal entries and month-end closings.  This position will be required to cross-train in all other areas of Finance and Administration as well. Special projects will be assigned on a routine basis.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant education/experience is required
  • 3 years' experience required in accounting role, performing similar duties, as described
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel is essential)
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently
  • Highly organized and detail oriented with high degree of accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times

Core Accountabilities

  • Complete monthly closings
  • Prepare monthly financial statements as well as other financial and statistical reports requested by manager
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank accounts in a timely manner
  • Process fixed assets, depreciation, and reconciliation of fixed asset general ledger accounts monthly
  • Reconcile sales and use tax reports on a monthly basis
  • Inventory costing in a manufacturing environment would be considered a plus
  • Special projects as assigned
  • Provide support for other accounting and administrative team members
  • Must be able to cross-train in areas of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and any other administrative duties as assigned
